Qualifications

Education

Master’s degree in special education a plus. Bachelor’s degree in special education required

    Certification

    Must have Pennsylvania Special Education Certification. Must have Elementary Education Certification in the State of Pennsylvania.

    Experience

    Compliance Requirements

    • Must comply with Act 168 and submit a completed Sexual Misconduct Form.

    • Must be able and willing to drive and have a valid PA driver’s license.

    Physical Requirements

    Professional Responsibilities

    • Provides individual assistance and direction to students in learning, counseling, and classroom management situations.

    • Shares IEP information with Instructional Coordinator(s) and/or 1:1 staff; makes certain that said staff clearly understands their IEP responsibilities; maintains appropriate documentation.

    • Instructs assigned students according to the established IEP goals, designated objectives, and Pennsylvania curriculum guidelines.

    • Maintains appropriate classroom discipline.

    • Participates in ongoing staff development training program including, but not limited to, training in: Student Achievement Model, Well Managed Classroom, CPI, classroom management, Positive Behavior Support, physical restraints, and instructional strategies.

    • Writes student progress reports as determined by the School Principal.
